Created in 1993 as a response to industry demands for practical, assistance with the then-just introduced Health and Safety legislation, Maher Associates Workplace Safety Ltd quickly earned a reputation for painlessly and efficiently guiding their clients through the steps needed for them to become fully compliant with the new rules.

Julie Maher - Director
Julie left the education sector to move into Health and Safety in 2012. Julie has been with Workplace Safety for the duration and is now the Director of the Company. Julie's strengths are her holistic approach, relationship skills, industry knowledge and commitment to "raising the bar" in Health and Safety across the board.
With a Diploma of OSHM and other industry specific qualifications she is eager to continue her professional development and set goals for herself of a spirit of continuous improvement in her own practice. Julie is a team player and prides herself on only ever being a phone call away.

Ralph MaherRalph Maher, the founder of Maher Associates Workplace Safety Ltd., has passed away. He was a highly regarded figure in the industry, offering a wealth of practical experience and considered a valuable resource to many.
Ralph had developed a reputation for delivering engaging lectures on practical and easy-to-implement Health and Safety solutions, with a casual and friendly presence that captivated his audiences. Ralph was a former "Registered Safety Professional" (RSP) and "Accredited Safety Auditor" (ASA) with the NZ Safety Council, a partnership he valued greatly. He was also a "Professional Member" of the New Zealand Institute of Safety Management before resigning and semi-retiring. Though Ralph was less active in the company due to semi-retirement, he remained available for client support. |

Charlene Adams - Contract ConsultantCharlene Adams has joined the Workplace Safety team as a Consultant. Her strengths are her knowledge in the Construction Industry, strong relationship skills, a pragmatic approach to Health and Safety and a desire to be part of an industry striving to do better and get everyone home safe at night.
Her background in H&S started back in 2008 in London, Charlene has worked in Western Australia in the Mining and Oil Industry before moving into the construction space. Her return to NZ landed her a role with the City rail link project in a H&S role which then led to working as the lead H&S resource on some Large projects. Charlene has recently moved to the sunny North which has led to her becoming a consultant and working on various projects with a number of clients. We worked closely with Charlene on a major project over 18 months and when we were able to engage Charlene as part of the Workplace Safety team we jumped at the chance as her style of H&S fits our pragmatic and people focused approach. |

Jess PiriniJess is our Admin Guru. She joined the Workplace safety team in 2021 to add support in the background to the team out on site. If you have had your company pre-qualified for any of our clients, Jess is the person you talk to. Her knowledge base in Health and Safety is expanding by the day and her interest in the topic is also growing.
Jess is a home office based worker so she can also carry on her role to Mum to her family and works in a part time capacity. Her email address is always open for business. |
